I currently live in Brooklyn, New York. It's been my home since winter 2020, when, in the middle of finals week, a pandemic, and a snowstorm, I moved into a 1914 Finnish Co-op.

This green desk has survived many moves, and nearly didn't make it into this new home. It was a minor miracle that we made it work in this space. But I love it. It's so joyful.
I like to surround myself with artwork all over my home. Above my desk, there's a gorgeous poster by Victo Ngai of the Cloisters, my favorite place in the city. The diamond-shaped print is by my first college art professor, Wasyl Palijczuk. I own two of his pieces. I have a small icon of St. Lucy, her eyes on a plate, to protect my eyesight. Above the arrow, a postage stamp-sized print of Alice falling down the rabbit hole. And above that, my gift to myself for my 40th birthday: a sculpture by Elizabeth Frank of a hand budding leaves, with an eye embedded in it. I saw it, and knew it was made for me.
I keep my pencils divided by color. It's pretty and it makes it easier to find what I need.
If you've ordered prints from me, this is where I package them and get them ready to ship out.

I prefer Berol Prismacolors.

Every gal needs a trusty assistant, right? This is Ludo. I've had him since 2012, and he is a rescue from South Carolina. I think he's part dachshund, part blackmouth cur. He sings. Really. He's learning to just now play off leash in the park across the street. And he's really afraid of fireworks and thunder.

In the same room is the desk I use for my office. Here, I work, teach, write, scan, and use Photoshop. You can see the rower that I use to keep my shoulders strong--drawing is debilitating on that joint.
I have some cool pieces hanging up here, too. A photo of myself in Wonder Woman underoos. A print by Carson Ellis. A piping medieval pig. A clock from Rome, made to look like the pavement there, the sampietrini. A wood engraving of a T-Rex getting ready to eat fairgoers. And a sign for a street in Bremen, Germany, where we bought toys as kids.

I did lose my green flat file in the move. So Quentin Kelley of Infusion Furniture built me this lovely art closet. It's gorgeous and I love it.
